Breda: Dutch dominance in the marathon

The Dutch drivers have dominated the extremely heavy marathon at the FEI World Pony Driving Championships in Breda. The Orange drivers claimed victory in each class. Marissa Schuiling won the marathon in the singles class, Dirk Neerincx was the strongest in the pairs class and defending World Champion Bram Chardon remained far ahead of his opponents in the four-in-hand class. With these strong performances, the Dutch team have taken the lead in the nations competition, but only just ahead of Germany.

It was heavy today at the Prinsehoeve Estate, very heavy. The marathon started and finished in the rain. The sun only came out at the end of the afternoon, but the footing in the obstacles was already damaged severely by then.
