Breda Hippique candidate for WC para equestrian driving 2010

Breda Hippique has, supported by the Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation, applied for the organization of the FEI World Championship Para Equestrian Driving in 2010.

Breda Hippique successfully organized the Dutch National Para Equestrian Dressage Championships in 2009 and therefore already has a strong connection with the para equestrian sport. Reigning World Champion Jacques Poppen from the Netherlands is thrilled with the application: “It looked as if I was not going to be able to defend my title next year because there were no candidates. Luckily, Breda was very enthusiastic about organizing the World Championship. Breda Hippique is a wonderful event with an excellent organization. I really hope I can defend my title next year on home soil.”
If the FEI allocates the World Championship to Breda, it will be fully integrated in the existing four-in-hand programme.
The only other candidate is Ashfields in Great Britain, who have organized a national combined driving even for the first time in 2009. The FEI will decide next week during the General Assembly in Copenhagen who will organize the World Championship.
