Despite only a handful spectators, IJsbrand Chardon put on a show and won the first round of the World Cup four-in-hand driving in Budapest, edging out Jérôme Voutaz and Koos de Ronde.

The course, designed by Frenchman Jacques Tamalet didn’t put up too much of a challenge for the drivers. After the first round, only Bram Chardon finished without faults. The seven drivers started the second round with a clean slate and both Koos de Ronde and Jèrôme Voutaz put down clear rounds with Voutaz edging out de Ronde by a few seconds. IJsbrand Chardon was the second last one to start and drove an incredibly fast round, beating Voutaz’s time by five seconds and even with one knocked down element took the lead. Unfortunately Bram was unable to replicate his first round and had to settle for the sixth place.

On Sunday at 7L30pm the World Cup will once again be on the program and points will be awarded to the best drivers.
