WEG: Dutch Four-in-hand team announced

After a strong showing this past weekend in Riesenbeck, The Netherlands team coach Harry de Ruyter has named the drivers that will travel to the World Championships September 3-7, 2014 at WEG in Normandy.

The golden trio of IJsbrand Chardon, Koos de Ronde and Theo Timmerman will travel to France to defend the team gold medal which they have had in their possession since 2008.  Mark Weustof will be the first reserve driver.

Four time individual World Champion IJsbrand Chardon has had a successful year with fifth place finishes in Windsor and Riesenback and a third place finish in Vecsés.  Koos de Ronde earned his ticket to WEG with his third place finishes in Windsor, Saumur, and the prestigious competitions in Aachen and Riesenbeck. Reigning European Champion Theo Timmerman finished second place in Horst and Saumur, had two sixth place finishes in Windsor and Aachen and bested the field in Riesenbeck to round out the selection process.

Harry de Ruyter is very positive about the chances of his Dutch team: "Koos and Theo are in form, and IJsbrand is on track to finding the right combination in his team.  I am confident that we have the chance to be on the podium again in Normandy."
