EC Youth: First international event in the arena of Schildau

Eight nations - Russia, Hungary, Germany, Finland, Italy, Great Britain and Belgium, will start in Schildau for the first time. The European Youth Driving Championships takes place from 22 to 25 September 2016.

This year’s FEI European Driving Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Drivers will be executed under the direction of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) in cooperation with the German Equestrian Federation (FN).

Schildau can guarantee that at all times the welfare of the horse will be a priority. This includes the monitoring of the competition areas, well prepared ground and stables as well as site safety and fitness of the horse even after completion. Numerous members of the society are busy with preparing the event for weeks and are looking forward to the event. 

The dressage will take place on the first and second day of the Championships. The Marathon will be held on Saturday, 24 September. The final cones competition will be on Sunday, 25 September.

The weekend will be very exciting – not only from the perspective of drivers. The list of the Officials is already known. With Thomas Schmidt, Minister of State for Environment and Agriculture of Saxony and Kai Emanuel, District Administrator of northern Saxony, the European Championships have two famous patrons.
The Ground Jury is composed by Mark Wentein (BEL) as President, Sarah Mullins (IRL), Pia Skar (DEN), Elimar Thunert (GER) and Stefan Keszycki (POL). The reserve judge is Gun Hagring (SWE). The course design is in the hands of level 4 Course Designer Dr. Hartmut Kaufmann (GER) while the Technical Delegate is Philip Bateman (GBR).
