Ermelo: Most leaders maintain their lead

On the third day of the international driving competiton at Ermelo (NED), most leaders managed to keep their leading position. Wilbrord van den Broek (NED), Tinne Bax (BEL), Marissa Schuiling (NED) and Roger Campbell (GBR) are still on the first place after marathon.

Winner of dressage by the horse pairs yesterday, Claudio Fumagalli (ITA), tipped over in the second obstacle and therefore he was eliminated.
After a third place in dressage yesterday and a third place in marathon, Antonie ter Harmsel (NED) took over the first place after two days. He is followed by the winner of the marathon, Benny Gosschalk (NED) who returned to driving sport after two years of absence.

Marissa Schuiling (NED)  performed well during marathon which resulted in a fifth place today. After winning in dressage she is still leading the single pony class ahead of marathon winner Katja Helpertz (GER) on the second place, closely followed by Tamara Pijl (NED) on the third position.
Reigning World Champion Wilbrord van den Broek (NED) kept his first place in the single horse class with a strong marathon performance ahead of his compatirots Saskia Siebers and Eline Houterman. German driver Ulrike Firk was the best today in marathon by the singles.

Bad luck also for Dutch driver Rodinde Rutjens in the pony pair class who was on the way to the finish after the fifth obstacle but hit a pole and turned over. After winning dressage, Roger Campbell (GBR) won the marathon as well and maintained his lead. Ewoud Boom (NED) is on the second place, who used a new pony for the first time in marathon, followed by Belgian pony pair driver Johan Nijs. Strong performing Tinne Bax (BEL) is still leading the pony team class.
Winner of marathon by the horse teams, Edouard Simonet (BEL) took over the lead from yesterday's winner Juan Antonio Real Garcia (ESP) who finished eighth today. German lady driver Mareike Harm remains on the second place after dressage and marathon. 

Tomorrow is the final cones day at the Dutch National Equestrian Centre in Ermelo.
