Francesco Mattavelli passed away

Italian former international pair and four-in-hand driver Francesco Mattavelli passed away on 25th December after a long illness. Mattavelli was 72 years old.

Francesco Mattavelli was one of the drivers who initiated the driving sport in Italy in the seventies. Francesco took part in the FEI World Pair and Four-in-Hand Championships since 1987, where he was member of the Italian team, together with amongst others Carlo Mascheroni. His last World Championship participation was in 1998 at the FEI World Equestrian Games on his home soil in Rome.

Our thoughts go out to his family and we like to remember Francesco’s smile while driving his horses.
