Beekbergen: exciting closure of the singles class

Sunday 22 July 2012

The winner of the first Horse Single Class at the CAI-A Beekbergen 2012 is announced: Christoph Dieker from Germany was in the lead from the beginning and secured his first place in the final obstacle driving competition.

A very selective cones course resulted in an exciting Finale. None of the 40 single drivers managed to pass the finish in the time allowed. Dutch driver Frank van der Doelen drove a clear round and only had 2,84 penalty points for exceeding the time allowed which made him winner of the cones competition.

Brother and sister Bartolomiej and Weronika Kwiatek stayed closed toe ach other, but had different tactics. Weronika was the fastest and even drove on three wheels for a moment. ‘Bartek’ drove clear, but was too slow and finished just behind his sister. The pressure was on the shoulders of Christoph Dieker, who was only a few penalty points in the lead. Dieker was on his way to drive a clear round, but he was too focussed on the finish and knocked a ball of the last obstacle. Luckily, the few time penalties did not endanger his first position. Bartolomiej Kwiatek kept his second place and Weronika Kwiatek finished third in the combined competition.
