Rising level for Carriage Driving sport in Argentina

14-01-2012

Thanks to the enthusiasm and work of the Argentinean single driver Mariano Alejandro Paz and with the help of Swiss O-course designer and former international four-in-hand driver Christian Iseli, the level of Carriage Driving sport in Argentina is rising.

Since several years, Mariano Paz has committed himself to the national carriage driving sport in Argentina. The disabled driver is determined, enthusiastic and is using his willpower to try to lift the driving sport in Argentina to European level.
Christian Iseli has been invited by Paz several times in the past years to give clinics for organisers, judges, technical delegates, course designers, trainers and drivers.

In 2012, Iseli and Paz elaborated a concept how to ideally organise and build a combined driving competition. In November 2011, the newly designed competition area at Mariano’s Hacienda ‘La Yunta’ hosted the Argentinean national championships.

The competition was organised following the concept step by step. This resulted in a very successful competition. The dressage field, the warming up area, the marathon sections and the marathon obstacles in particular could be compared to the European level in driving sport.

The clear and strong organisation, sponsors and many spectators contributed to the success of the Championship.
After three days of competition, Mariano’s hard work was awarded with the first prize in the single horse class.
The level of the carriage driving sport in Argentina is clearly rising and will hopefully be of international value in the future as well.
