Windsor: Amely von Buchholtz leads after dressage

Friday 11 May 2012

Argentinean lady driver Amely von Buchholtz has won the Horse Pairs Dressage today at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Von Buchholtz, who is a regular competitor at Windsor, set the winning score of 46,85 penalty points. Barry Capstick came second, ahead of Beat Schenk.

Although there was no rain today at Windsor and there was even some sunshine, the mud which was caused by the heavy rain showers on Thursday had not disappeared. This made the warm up circumstances difficult for all drivers, but this did not affect Amely von Buchholtz. She drove her pair of KWPN geldings Toby (v. Goodtimes) and Valentino (v. De Niro) to the first place.

The Britain-based irish driver Barry Capstick drove the Patijn-sons Connor and Jack Hackett to the deserved second place.
Switzerland's Beat Schenk finished third with the KWPN-gelding Nero IX and the German bred Warlok.
