Horst: Chardon wins both Dutch Championship and International competition

IJsbrand Chardon was named Dutch national four-in-hand champion today for the 27th time. Koos de Ronde was extremely close behind him after driving a better cones and marathon, but Chardons super dressage test clinched him the title.

Michael Brauchle drove his horses at top speed through the obstacles and handily won the marathon with Koos de Ronde finishing second. Boyd Exell wasn't having his day. Up until obstacle 5 the marathon was going well, but after catching a leader bar a groom had to step down in the water obstacle to get it free. He then took his time with the rest of the course letting Chardon pass him in the trajectory. Exell finished the last two obstacles but pulled up after obstacle 7.

The top three finishers were all Dutch with Chardon, De Ronde and Theo Timmerman rounding out the podium.
