Lipica: four horses out

The FEI World Driving Championships for Pairs in Lipica, Slovenia started today with the horse inspection. After about three weeks of rain, today the weather was much better than when Lipica welcomed the drivers.

The organisers have done their best to create good conditions for all the competitors after all the rain during the past days.

Today, the 82 drivers from 23 nations presented 241 horses to the Ground Jury and the veterinarians. One horse from Swedish driver Eva Ottosson and one from Francisco Ballester (ESP) were declared not fit to compete. Unfortunately, Jozsef Masir (SVK), will not be able to start in the competition because two out of three of his horses did not pass the horse inspection.

This means also that Slovakia does not have a team, because now they only have one driver representing Slovakia.

The dressage starts with the first part of the drivers on Thursday at 9.00 hrs.
