Madrid: Boyd Exell sets off with another win

Madrid Horse Week hosted the first competition of the FEI World Cup™ Driving this evening. Despite the late night hour, the seven drivers were cheered by the enthusiastic spectators during the two rounds. Boyd Exell put down the fastest times and won, ahead of Rainer Duen and Koos de Ronde.

The heavy footing and the technical course designed by German course designer Dr. Wolfgang Asendorf resulted in only two clear rounds this evening. Rainer Duen drove double clear in the first round and herewith set the basis for his second place. Glenn Geerts stayed clear in the second round but had already collected 20 penalty points in the first round and finished fourth.

Switzerland’s Jérôme Voutaz finished fifth, ahead of wild card drivers Juan Real Garcia and Ernesto Colman Mena, who both made their World Cup debut in Madrid.
