Preparations for EC Youth at Ksiaż, Walbrzych well under way

The preparations for the European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Drivers from 21st to 24th August are well under way at Ksiaz, Walbrzych Poland. The Technical Delegate, Philip Bateman and the Course Designer Marek Zaleski spent 3 days at the site last week; together with Show Director Monika Slowik all the relevant matters were discussed. There will also be a CAI 3* for Singles in the final build up to the World Championships for Horse Singles at Izsak in Hungary shortly after this Event in Poland.

The setting of the Castle at Ksiaz is a magnificent backdrop for this prestigious Event: the last World Championships in Poland was at Jarantów in 2008. The Organisers are expecting around 60 Athletes, from 10 Nations or more for the Championships and up to 40 Athletes for the Singles Event. With 8 existing Obstacles for the CAI Athletes and less for Championships combined with a Course through the Parklands of the Castle, this will be an exciting Event. The Organisers are expecting some 5000 spectators on Marathon Day, with smaller numbers for Driven Dressage and the Obstacle Cones Driving. Polish TV will be broadcasting some of the Event and the Minister of Agriculture, Marek Sawicki will be attending, together with Karoly Fugli, Chairman of the FEI Driving Committee, who will present up to 36 Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to the Winners of the various Classes.

Nothing is being left to chance, with special social events, such as a Nation’s Evening and an Athletes Party being organised, at this, one of Poland’s National Studs. All those attending can be certain of a Great Event in a very special setting.
