Stockholm: Exell takes second win in a row

With the World Cup competition in Budapest reaching its conclusion, the six four-in-hand drivers in Stockholm began their quest for World Cup points. Boyd Exell once again took the win here after his success in Stuttgart and managed to edge out wild card driver Fredrik Persson and his student Edouard Simonet in the Friends Arena.

Both Exell and Persson were able to post clear drives in the first round on the course designed by Swedish course designer Dan Henriksson. Henriksson had utilized the new ‘speed box’ element in his course but this didn’t provide any problems to the experienced drivers. In the Winning Round the drivers points were set back to zero and both Persson and Simonet put up 15 penalty seconds after their drives. The final starter Boyd Exell ticked off one ball, but this didn’t put his lead in any danger.

Georg von Stein (GER) finished in fourth place, in front of Chester Weber (USA) and Glenn Geerts (BEL).

The next World Cup competition will take place in Genève Switzerland on December 9&10.
