Stockholm: Horse Axel Olin died

A huge setback for four-in-hand driver Axel Olin, who competed with a wild card last night during the qualification round of the FEI World Cup™ Driving in Stockholm. Just after the team had passed the finish line, one of his wheeler horses Filur died.

The team had completed the round and the horses were walking towards the exit from the arena when Filur collapsed. The veterinary team was very quickly on the scene to attend to the horse, but sadly there was nothing that could be done. An autopsy will be conducted to establish the cause of death.

Filur was a 23-year-old Swedish warm blood gelding with which Tomas Eriksson has been very successful in his four-in-hand.
