Topolcianky: Vilmos Lázár strongest in marathon

The marathon offered exciting sport under very good circumstances. Hungary’s Vilmos Lázár was definitely the strongest in the marathon with six fastest times. He stayed ahead of Harrie Verstappen with over 4 penalty points. Poland’s Jacek Koslowski finished third.

Best German driver was Arndt Lorcher. With Thorsten Zarembowicz on the fifth place, the Germans had two drivers in the top ten, like Hungary with Vilmos’ younger brother Zoltan Lazar on the 6th place.
The first Austrian driver in the marathon results is Gerard Rössler in 12th position, while the best Swiss was Bruno Widmer on the 31st place.

The marathon was technically demanding and asked a lot of the drivers and their horses.
Vilmos Lazar has taken over the lead in the standings from Carola Diener, who finished 17th in the marathon. Carola was unlucky, as she had to wait a long time before obstacle five in which Ireland’s Barry Capstick, who was second in the dressage, fell off the carriage and needed medical attention.
Barry has a fractured vertebrae in his back, but was released out of hospital in the evening.
Zoltan Lazar is in third place before the final obstacle driving competition. Bit nothing is decided yet, because there are just little over three-penalty points between them.

German Sebastian Warneck is in fourth place, ahead of his compatriot Thorsten Zarembowicz, best US driver Misdee Wrigley-Miller and Harrie Verstappen.
Hungary is in the lead of the nations competition, five penalty points ahead of Germany and Austria, who put down steady performances.
The difference with the top is very big with 22 penalty points, while the Dutch team have climbed up to the fourth place thanks to their strong marathon performances.
