Wild card for IJsbrand Chardon in Leizpig

Four times World Champion IJsbrand Chardon has received the wild card for the World Cup competition in Leipzig, Germany. Chardon is one of the six four-in-hand drivers who will start at the Partner Pferd Horse Show from 22nd to 24th January 2010.

Leipzig is the sixth leg of the FEI World Cup Driving season 2009/2010. Chardon will not receive any World Cup points, but is entitled to prize money and this is an excellent opportunity for him to stay in competition rhythm. The 21 times national champion will start in 5 out of 8 competitions this season, the samenumber as one of his biggest opponents Boyd Exell. Earlier this week it was announced that Exell will start in Mechelen with a wild card.
Chardon won the World Cup competitions in Leipzig in 2007 and 2009 and is very pleased with the invitation: “Leipzig is a very nice show with a good course. I am looking forward to it!”
It will be a full weekend for Team Chardon because IJsbrand and his son Bram will give a four-in-hand show at Jumping Amsterdam on Saturday evening.

Chardon won the World Cup competition in Leipzig earlier this year and has now got the wild card for the 2010 edition.

The competitions in Leipzig are scheduled for Friday evening 22nd and Sunday afternoon 24th January 2010. Chardon’s opponents in the Leipziger Messe are Theo Timmerman, Werner Ulrich, Jiri Nesvacil and Tomas Eriksson.
Leipzig is followed by the last competition in Bordeaux on 5th and 6th February after which the Top 6 of the standing scan prepare for the Final in Geneva on 16th and 17th April.
