Windsor: Sovereign win for Chester Weber

USA’s top four-in-hand driver Chester Weber just concluded his first ever start at the Royal Windsor Horse Show with a sovereign win. His biggest opponent Boyd Exell finished second, followed by Koos de Ronde and rookie Glenn Geerts.

Chester Weber set the basis for his victory in the garden of Windsor Castle in dressage, which he won with a near World Record. In the marathon, the 11-times USEF four-in-hand champion drove his and Jane Clark’s bay geldings to the fourth place, which kept him in the lead of the standings. Reigning World Champion Boyd Exell was less than a ball behind the 2012 silver medallist and had one knock down in the cones, which gave Weber some air. The candidate for the FEI Technical Committee Driving however kept his head clear and drove a double clear round, confirming his super performance throughout the week.
Koos de Ronde and Daniel Schneiders put down the other two double clears in Johan Jacobs’ difficult but challenging cones course.

The top nine after dressage and marathon did not change after the cones, in which rookie Glenn Geerts finished fourth after a steady dressage, a fantastic marathon victory and just one knock down in the cones.
