Topolcianky: Leonhard Risch in the lead

Switzerland’s Leonhard Risch has taken the lead in the single horse class at the CAI3* in Topolcianky which started today. Risch drove his Freiberger stallion Lasting CH to the first place in dressage. Runner-up was Marisa Rössler from Austria, followed by László Kecskeméti from Hungary. Lars Kruger put down the best German result, finishing on the fourth place.

The grounds of the dressage arena in the middle of the racecourse of the National Stud Farm Topolcianky stayed perfect throughout the day, despite some rain showers. Twenty-six horse singles and two horse pairs (in the CAI2* class) drove their dressage test this afternoon in front of the Ground Jury, led by Jiri Kunat (CZE).

Tomorrow, the arena is reserved for the horse pair drivers in the CAI3* class, followed by the horse teams, who will start their battle for precious World Cup Qualification points.

As part of the Donau Alpen Pokal, the Team Members competed in a compulsory standstill presentation, which was judged by the members of the Appeal Committee after the competitor’s dressage test. This extra competition, which does not count for the combined result, was also won by Leonhard Risch, followed by Hungarian drivers Katalin Nyul and László Kecskeméti.
The horse pairs will also have the presentation tomorrow.
