Aachen: Sovereign win for Boyd Exell

Never before a four-in-hand driver managed to win every single competition at the CAIO Aachen. Reigning World Champion Boyd Exell won both dressage competitions, had the best tactics in the Top Score Competition, was the fastest in the marathon, put down the best performance in the Jump & Drive competition on Saturday evening with the show jumpers and eventer on board and finished off the competition by winning the final obstacle driving class.

Boyd stayed ahead of four-times World Champion Ijsbrand Chardon and 2014 silver medallist Chester Weber and won the Aachen-title for the seventh time in his career: “The team behind me, including my sponsors, has been excellent again this week,” says Boyd. It all came together for the Valkenswaard-based Australian driver, who is sharpening his knives for the FEI World Four-in-Hand Driving Championships in September in Breda, the Netherlands.
