Bennington Carriages new sponsor for Houtappels-BruderBennington Carriages, Britains foremost horse drawn carriage manufacturer has recently developed a sponsorship agreement (partnership) with Netherlands-based Canadian single horse driver Kelly Houtappels-Bruder.
Houtappels-Bruder has been competing with a Bennington Presentation Carriage for the dressage and cones phases of competition for a number of years, and will now also be making the step over to a Bennington XL marathon carriage.
Houtappels-Bruder is a driver who has been a consistent presence on the international stage with her 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding Flip. “I am absolutely thrilled to be making this step with Bennington. I have long believed that my dressage carriage is the best out there. From the first time I drove it, it was just ‘right’; there was no learning curve when it came to cones driving and it rolls so lightly that collection and suspension in the dressage becomes less of a burden for the horses,” tells Houtappels. “Flip is a strong marathon horse and I think the Bennington XL is going to make his job even easier. Sue Mart of Bennington has been wonderful to work with and I look forward to furthering this partnership.”
“We are delighted to be working with Kelly, her professional approach in training and competing at World Class level, links perfectly with the Bennington brand. We are looking forward to an exciting partnership, to promote single carriage driving at World Class level in Europe, Canada and America. Lots of exciting plans, linking training sessions across the world,” tells Sue Mart.
During the last 46 years, Bennington is proud to have manufactured carriages for the British Monarchy, The Sultan of Brunei, The Disney Corporation as well as exporting carriages worldwide. Today, under the watchful eye of Sue, Bennington remains true to its roots, remaining family owned and employing 12 highly skilled local craftspeople who design, manufacture and support the very finest carriages available.
