Boyd Exell nominated for ‘Best Athlete’ Award

Three-times World Champion and six-time FEI World Cup™ Driving champion Boyd Exell is nominated for the prestigious Reem Acra Best Athlete Award.


A total of 29 candidates in 5 categories have been shortlisted for the 2015 FEI Awards. For the title 'Best Athlete', for athletes who have demonstrated exceptional equestrian skills and have taken the sport to a new level over the last 12 months, Exell is on the list of nominees together with vaulter Jaques Ferrari (FRA), eventer William Fox Pitt (GBR), eventer Ingrid Klimke (GER), dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin (GBR) and showjumper Jeroen Dubbeldam (NED). Dubbeldam won this prize in 2014.

The winners will be announced at a glittering gala dinner in Puerto Rico on 13 November. The winners in five categories will be presented with their awards by Hollywood actress Bo Derek, Chair of the Jury for this year’s FEI Awards. The FEI Awards 2015 judging panel also includes FEI President Ingmar De Vos, Carmen Barrera, Chair of FEI Regional Group V (South America) and Ulf Helgstrand, Vice President of the European Equestrian Federation.
