Bregenz: Victory for Fabian Gänshirt, Jan-Felix Pfeffer and Steffen Brauchle

A beautiful spring day gave the Bodensee Classic in Bregenz a successful conclusion today. The cones course was demanding but good to drive. A tip over of one of the single drivers, due to a driving mistake, resulted in any damage for all involved.

The cones competition resultted in some changes in the overall standings. Sandra Schäfer put down a double clear round and won this phase, which moved her up to the second place in the final ranking with less than one point difference to the winner Fabian Gänshirt. He also put down a clear round, with his worst classed pony and won. Third place went to Claire lefort from France, only 0.01 points behind Schäfer.

There were five clear round in the pairs class. The fastest one was Jan Felix Pfeffer who not only won the cones competition but also the combined competition. He herewith proved that he was not only able to drive well, but also has very good nerves.

It did not go so well for Karl Cvörnjek, who was in the lead after the marathon. He had an early ball and when the number 20 came down as well, he dropped to the fourth place. The ones who profited and stayed clear were Max Berlage and Dieter Baackmann, dwho finished second and third.

The four-in-hands also put down good performances between the cones. Nicolas Clair (FRA), Yannik Scherrer (SUI) and Jan de Boer (NED) stayed clear. For Clair and Scherrer it meant that they moved up in the final ranking and Jan de Boer finished on the third place this year, after having won several times in the past.
Young German driver Sven Kneifel was only 0,5 points ahead on the second place. The clear winner was, as expected after dressage and marathon, Steffen Brauchle. But he did cause some tension with his fans when he knock two balls down in the first four cones. After that he got himself together and made no more mistakes.
