Drebkau 2019: Veterinary inspection not without incident

The World Championships for Pair Horses kicked off this morning in Drebkau, Germany with the veterinary inspection. A total of 254 horses were brought before the panel with 4 being determined not fit to compete.

Unfortunately for Italian Luca Cassottana, his Championship was over before it began; one of his two horses was deemed not fit, and without a reserve horse he will not be able to take part in the competition. Magdalena Jankowska (POL), Wayne van Niekerk (ZA) and Claude Malget (LUX) will all have to compete with one less horse than originally planned.

Dressage tests will be driven on Thursday and Friday starting at 9:00am with the marathon being driven on Saturday and cones on Sunday. Only then will we know who will be taking over the title of World Champion from Hungarian Martin Hölle.
