Exloo 2019: Marathon day under ideal circumstances

The organising committee of the international driving competition in Exloo could not have wished for better circumstances for today's marathon. Blue skies, sun, lots of spectators and competitive sport.

IJsbrand Chardon successfully tested his new leader horses and won the marathon, ahead of Edwin van der Graaf and Sebastian Hess.

Father and son Koalick dominated the Horse Pairs Class today. Son Sandro drove his pairs to the first and second place, while father Torsten claimed the third position.

After winning the dressage, Gjalt Jan Jansma also took the top honours in the marathon and is now over 4 points ahead of Mie Mosegaard Nielsen. Jaap van der Horst finished in third place and is now third in the standings as well.

Marijke Hammink won the marathon and has taken over the lead from Edith Chardon, who came third. Jannes Kinds took the second place in the marathon.

Nathalie van der Ende won the marathon in the Pony Pairs Class, ahead of Rodinde Rutjens and Louise Fillon. Rutjens is now in pole position, ahead of dressage winner Louise Hansen.

Dutch champion Brent Janssen managed to just stay ahead of Annegreet Zaayer and won. Tamara Pijl finished in sixth place but kept her lead, ahead of Marissa Schuiling and Maria Buchwald.

Francisca den Elzen won the marathon in the para class, ahead of Jacques Poppen and Ingmar Veneman.
