Exloo: one pony not fit to compete

The first edition of the CAI2* Exloo started early this morning with the first horse inspection. Only one of the over 320 presented horses and ponies did not pass this first test.

The 11-year-old Fjord gelding of Danish competitor Karina Blaabjerg was declared ‘not fit to compete’ by the veterinarians and judges. Luckily, Blaabjerg had entered two ponies for the singles class, so she will still be able to compete in Exloo.

The dressage started at midday at the main Showgrounds in Exloo, where hard work was done the past days to make everything in order. The special sand footing was finished only yesterday and is used for the first time today.

A total number of 147 competitors from 9 nations start at the grounds of Equestrian Centre Exloo these days.
