FEI European Youth Driving Championships 2024 in Flyinge

Just before the sixth edition of the FEI Youth Driving Championships will start in Kisbér-Aszár this week, the FEI announced that the FEI Driving European Championships U25, Juniors & Children 2024 will take place in Flyinge, Sweden. The championships will be held from July 22 to 28 and will be organised by Skånska Körsällskapet and the Swedish Equestrian Federation.

The European Youth Driving Championships will be the third international championships in Sweden in four years. The Nordic nation hosted the eventing championships in 2021 and there will be two vaulting championships in 2023.

“Our aim is to continually apply for international championships and to support the organisers when it comes to both application and execution”, says Wiveka Lundh, international senior advisor at the Swedish International Federation. “There were other strong candidates for this championship and we are therefore thrilled to get the approval from the FEI. This means so much for our sport and for our youth drivers. We are very happy”, says Annika Borg, the Swedish chef d’equipe.

New area

Flyinge is located in the south of Sweden, close to Malmö. There will be a completely new area developed for equestrian events such as the European championships. The Nordic championships next year in Flyinge will be the trial event for the FEI European Youth Driving Championships in 2024.
