Large field of participants at CAI Exloo

The organization of the international driving competition in Exloo is looking forward to the European Championships for Four-in-Hand driving and the World Championships for para driving in August. But the focus is now on the international driving competitions from March 22nd through the 26th, where all disciplines will compete. The organizing team is pleased with the large number of entries.

Although the competition is early in the competition season, 150 drivers have entered. They come from all over the world: Australia, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Norway, Italy and the Netherlands. Many Dutch drivers are seizing the opportunity to start at an international competition in their own country. More than half of the field of participants (80 drivers) come from The Netherlands.

The schedule

From Wednesday March 22nd, the participants will arrive on the grounds of Equestrian Center Exloo. Thursday March 23rd is the first competition day; the single and para drivers drive their dressage test on the large sand arena. On Friday March 24th the pair and Four-in-Hand teams will show their dressage skills to the international judges. Both pony drivers and horses will be taking part in the competition. Because the program is packed, the marathon starts early on Saturday March 25th. The first competitor will start at 8:00 am. New obstacles have been built and that offers the Four-in-Hand drivers and para drivers the opportunity to get a taste of the European and World Championships (August 23-27).

All marathon obstacles are within walking distance of each other, so that all fans can easily follow their favorite. The final part of the competition is the cones course. This will be held on Sunday March 26th and will be the exciting climax of the competition. After all, this part determines who the winners are in the end. There will be two courses built in the large sand arena. Spectators are very welcome; admission is free on all days.
