Huge interest for the Lipica Driving Clinic with Boyd Exell and Martin Hölle

Around 80 prominent drivers, trainers, grooms and fans from 15 various countries have signed up for the international driving clinic with world champions Boyd Exell and Martin Hölle in Lipica from March 11th through the 13th. The registration period is officially closed, but due to the huge interest, the organization has started a waiting list.

Pairs in the Picture

During the clinic, the reigning world champions Boyd Exell and Martin Hölle will give, among other things, a look behind the scenes of how a world champion prepares in a World Championship year. These two top drivers are joining forces and together with World Championship judge Andrew Counsell they will be taking on the new FEI pair driving tests. They will also be looking at the other dressage tests and there will be time to give attention to the cones and marathon phases. During the theory section of this clinic, in Lipica’s comfortable conference room, Exell will give a lecture about driving bits, and Counsell will give an overview on the new FEI rules regarding bits and harness. The most important changes in the FEI rules will also be discussed and Saturday evening there is time for open discussion over the future of the driving sport.

Lipizzaners in the Spotlight

The Lipizzaner Stud Farm is the shining backdrop of this clinic. The clinic participants will be staying on site, in the beautifully renovated Maestoso Hotel, where the theory sessions will be held as well. The practical part of the clinic will be held in the magnificent main arena of the stud farm, where Martin Hölle won his first World Championship title in 2017. Of course, the Lipizzaners will not be missing from the clinic program. They will be the final of the outdoor session on Saturday, with Boyd and Martin lending their special help.
