Driving not included in Italian bid for WEG 2022

A number of equestrian media outlets have reported that the Italian Equestrian Federation has put forward a bid to host the 2022 World Equestrian Games. Both Driving and Endurance were not included in the proposal.

The Italian federation would like to organize the World Championships for show jumping, dressage, para-dressage, eventing, vaulting and reining. The World Championships for four-in-hand driving and endurance missed the boat. The FEI has yet to confirm that the bid meets the minimum requirements or if the event is even viable.

The next World Championships for four-in-hand horses is to be held in 2020 at the Grandorse Equestrian Centre in Kronenberg, The Netherlands. A candidate to host the 2022 World Championships for four-in-hand horses has yet to put their name forward.
