Schildau: Dressage Friday

After a very successful Nations Night on Thursday evening, the FEI European Championships for Young Drivers in Schildau continued with the second part of the dressage on Friday.

The sun came out again which resulted in very nice temperatures, perfect conditions for another great driving day. The young drivers showed without exception nice dressage tests. The correctness of the turnouts and the accurateness of the figures was impressive. The quality of the horses in the single horse class was amazing. Nearly all turnouts sparkled through their quality of paces but also by the correctness of their education, which pleased the spectators.

Host nation Germany dominated this dressage day. In the single horse class, all four German drivers were amongst the top six. Dressage winner Annika Geiger however, was not placed 1st by any of the 5 Judges, runner up Jovanca Kessler was awarded with the 1st place by 3 Judges.

Another German victory in the Dressage Single ponies Young Drivers with Marlena Brenner. But she is closely followed by Sweden and Austria.

Like the Junior Pony Pairs Class, also the Young Drivers Pony Pairs Class existed of one competitor. Zsófia Kovács from Hungary is certain of a gold medal, provided she finishes the competition.

Germany is in the lead of the Nations Cup, followed by Sweden and Denmark. But tomorrow is a heavy marathon day. Course Designer Josef Middendorf (GER), who replaces the original Course Designer Dr. Kaufmann who is ill, has come up with some tricky things for the youngsters, which will ensure an exciting marathon.
