2022 World Equestrian Games not to be in Samorin

At the FEI General Assembly in Montevideo, Uruguay it was announced that the bidding process for the 2022 World Equestrian Games must be reopened after Slovakia has withdrawn their bid for the competition.

Despite lengthy discussions with the FEI, Samorin ultimately decided against signing the host agreement. The FEI will be accepting new bids with an announcement and designation of the event being made in November 2018 at the in-person FEI Bureau meeting.

“We are confident that another organization will step forward, but it is a complicated event and we must be certain that we can organize it successfully,” according to FEI chairman Ingmar De Vos during the General Assembly.

The next World Equestrian Games will be held in 2018 in Tyron, USA.
