Wild cards for De Ronde, Exell and Geerts in Mechelen

The Organizing committee of Jumping Mechelen has given top drivers Boyd Exell, Koos de Ronde and Glenn Geerts wild cards top compete in the FEI World Cup™ Driving in Mechelen on 29 and 30 December.

The wild cards drivers can expect strong competition in the Nekkerhal from Theo Timmerman (NED), Ijsbrand Chardon (NED), Rainer Duen (GER), Jerôme Voutaz (SUI) and Georg von Stein (GER).

Last year world champion Boyd Exell won in an exciting final round, closely followed by Koos de Ronde and the German champion Georg von Stein.

Belgian crowd favourite Glenn Geerts is training hard to prepare the competition in Mechelen. Earlier this year he was successful in the indoor shows in Utrecht and Zwartewaal, where he won in front of Dutch champion Ijsbrand Chardon.

Belgian champion Glenn Geerts: “I have a completely new indoor team. In the wheel I have the horses of my former outdoor team of the season 2014/2015, in the lead I have my reserve horse and my marathon horse of my outdoor team. This is until now the best indoor combination. The horses are fast and have a lot of experience, they really work together as a team. Now I try to keep them in competition rhythm as preparation for Jumping Mechelen.”

De first competition in Mechelen will take place on Thursday 29 December at 12:15, the world cup will be driven on Friday 30 December at 21:15.
