Windsor: Victory for Dieter Höfs in Dressage

Germany’s Dieter Höfs has won the dressage test of the Pony Fours Class at the Royal Windsor Horse Show this morning. Höfs was last to go of the ten pony teams and put down a very nice dressage test with his Welsh ponies, beating former World Champion Jan de Boer of the Netherlands who had been in the lead so far.

The third place went to the only Hungarian driver in Windsor this year, Vilmos Jámbor. Jámbor, a Driving Organiser himself, put down a score of 49,91 with his hackney ponies, keeping close to De Boer and Höfs. Young lady driver Jacqueline Walter from Germany drove the former ponies of Mia Allo nicely to the fourth place, ahead of the only British competitor Sara Howe.

The competitors are facing a challenging marathon tomorrow with eight obstacles, flagged by USA’s Richard Nicoll, who kindly stepped in last minute after the original course designer Christian Iseli fell ill some days ago.
