First win for De Ronde in Hannover

Dutchman Koos de Ronde made a perfect start this evening by winning the warm up round of the first FEI World Cup Driving competition of this season in Hannover. De Ronde put down an excellent performance, driving concentrated in a no-nonsense way, which resulted in the fastest round of the evening. De Ronde has the advantage tomorrow to start last.

Hungary’s Jozsef Dobrovitz drove his team of Lipizzan horses to the second place and stayed just ahead of Australia’s Boyd Exell. Reigning World Champion IJsbrand Chardon knocked three balls down and came fourth. Both Tomas Eriksson from Sweden and titleholder Christoph Sandmann from Germany had encountered difficulties in the course. They will be second and first to go in Sunday’s World Cup competition, which is scheduled at 12.30 hrs.
