Willy Naessens new sponsor Boyd Exell

Driving lover in heart and soul and owner of the well known Industrial and Pool Company Willy Naessens from Belgium will support triple World Champion Boyd Exell from Australia in the next years. Naessens previously supported the very successful Belgian four-in-hand driver Gert Schrijvers who recently announced his retirement from the driving sport.

“The Willy Naessens Group already has a business in the Netherlands and we would like to expand our market in the Netherlands,” says Naessens, who was infected with the driving virus some 25 years ago. “By supporting Boyd Exell who now lives in Valkenswaard, we will create a lot of brand awareness in the Netherlands.”

Willy Naessens and Boyd Exell have an agreement for the next two to three years: “The past 15 years we have supported Gert Schrijvers with much pleasure and I hope that we are able to have the same nice cooperation with Boyd for the next 15 years as well, but I can’t tell you if I will live to experience this,” laughs the 75-year-old Naessens.

Willy Naessens was until 2012 sponsor of the FEI World Cup™ Driving leg in Mechelen, Belgium and he has re-adopted this class again in 2014. Naessens will organize the National Belgian Driving Championships from 18 to 20 September 2015 at his home soil in Elsegem.

By expanding his business in the Netherlands, Naessens does not exclude the option to sponsor a leg of the FEI World Cup™ Driving in the Netherlands in the future.

Exell is very pleased with Willy Naessens’ sponsorship: “I was very happy when Naessens approached me. I did not have a commercial sponsor yet, so the support of the Naessens Group is very welcome. My other sponsors will continue their support after my move to the Netherlands as well. Dodson and Horrell Horsefeed already sold feed in the Netherlands and will follow me with their support and sponsorship. The Hungarian Vincze Family will continue their support, which started 8 years ago, providing me with horsepower and future young horses. I am also very lucky to have the support of my private sponsors Hugh Scott Barrett, who is part of my inner team, and Boots Wright, who will also continue with their support. Furthermore, living close now to Van den Heuvel Carriages and Van der Wiel Harness is easier to push innovations and to work with them on new ideas.”
