Aachen 2023: Bad luck for the French

The vet check for the driving horses in Aachen took place early this morning. The French did not have good start; two of Benjamin Aillaud's horses were not declared 'fit to compete’.

This means that the French national team now only consists of Anthony Horde and Maxime Maricourt. All other horses were approved.

The four-in-hand teams drive the dressage on Thursday, followed by the marathon on Saturday and the cones on Sunday. In between, the ‘Top Score Competition’ will be held on Friday. There, the course consists of several gates, for which a different number of points can be achieved depending on the degree of difficulty. The drivers choose their own route and have three minutes to drive through as many gates as possible, driving each gate a maximum of two times. In the end, the driver who has collected the most points with the fastest time wins.
