Cindy Timmer wins Mennifique Challenge Trophy

Cindy Timmer has won the 2018 Mennifique Challenge Trophy on Saturday evening during Paard&Koets, the three-day carriage driving event for national and international drivers. Through this challenge trophy, the organisation of Paard&Koets puts enthusiastic people in the spotlight who mean a lot to the driving sport. Sometimes in front of, and usually behind the scenes.

Cindy Timmer is a familiar face to many driving enthusiasts. For years, Cindy has been a groom with, among others, the teams of Wolf and Amely von Buchholtz, the Backer family and the Beekman family. In 1996, together with Rick Velstra, she founded Hoefnet, the world’s most up-to-date and leading equestrian website with objective and up-to-date news for both competitive and recreational competitors. Her father Ad Timmer took care of the videos for Hoefnet for many years, so together they were a familiar face at competitions. Cindy has a broad knowledge of regulations in driving, which is why many drivers, organisers and officials know where to find her. Cindy is involved in many national and international competitions, events, world championships and World Cup competitions where she takes care of the Show Office.

About the Mennifique Challenge Trophy

The Mennifique Challenge Trophy is a bronze sculpture of a magnificent horse torso, depicted with special sense of detail. As a lasting reminder, the winner will receive a small reproduction of the challenge trophy at the next election. The prize was created in 2014 by the organisation of Paard&Koets. Previous winners were Carriage Driving Association Waal & Linge (2016), Tjeerd Velstra (2015) and Jan van den Broek (2014).
