Francesca Consolini led the standings after dressage and marathon, but dropped to bronze after two knock downs in the cones course. Dutch driver Renate Provoost, winner of the silver medal in 2021, started with the second place in dressage and maintained this position after the marathon. She kept her head cool in the cones and came out with one ball behind her name, which brought her the gold medal. Title defender Kris Rohrssen started off on the 11th place in dressage and climbed to silver after the third place in the marathon and just one fault in the cones.
