Preparations for the European & World Championships Exloo 2023 in full swing

From 23 to 27 August, the beautiful grounds of Equestrian Center Exloo will be dedicated to the FEI Driving European Championship for Four-in-Hand and the FEI Para Driving World Championship 2023. The preparations for this unique event in the province of Drenthe are in full swing.

FEI Level 4 course designer Jeroen Houterman recently visited the grounds in Exloo to dot the last i’s and cross the t’s. Together with Show Director Arjan Kleinjan and Lieuwe Koopmans of Equestrian Center Exloo, the marathon route was determined, the position of the tents and grandstands were duscussed and they agreed on the most ideal position for the mobile marathon obstacles in the main arena. Considerable attention has been paid to the routing for the public, who can easily follow the competitors in all six (for the para drivers) and eight (for the four-in-hand drivers) obstacles.

Houterman was very satisfied with the work done on the grounds, the footing and the obstacles: “Everything is in very good condition and we were able to make constructive decisions in good consultation. It is good to see that the organization takes everything into account. There are a number of other equestrian events scheduled in Exloo in the near future, but the grounds for the European and World Championships will be kept free so that they will be in optimum condition when the competition starts.”
