FEI Driving Judge Mariangela Beverina passed away

On Saturday, February 26, 2022 the Italian driving world had to acknowledge the death of International level 3 Driving Judge Mariangela Beverina, age 70, after a short but devastating illness.

Mariangela was active in the driving world already in the early seventies, at the beginning dedicated to competition in what was still a pioneering era, as well as to meetings of traditional driving, having inherited from her father the passion for driving. Later she became a high-level instructor and a much-appreciated judge, spanning from sport to tradition up to historical events.

Always very professional and thanks to her wide personal experience she had the opportunity to be part of the ground jury in many international events both in Italy and abroad and was an active part in the organization of the World Championships held at Pratoni del Vivaro near Rome in 1998, 2006 and 2010; for 2022 she was asked to be available, but unfortunately, she had to give up.

For many years she held the status of member of the Driving Committee in the Italian Equestrian Federation, always acting with style, feeling and knowledge, having the wellness of the horses as her main concern.

The Italian world will miss her as the most dedicated and professional driving enthusiast representing the historical memory of 50 years of driving sport in Italy while the international scene will remember her as a very knowledgeable official: in the name of both we express to her family our sympathy, aware that her memory will not fade.
