Poland strong in Ksiaz

Last week the international competition was held in Ksiaz, Poland. The homeland was well represented and managed to hold its own. For example, Weronika Kwiatek came in second with her single driving and pair driving horses.

In the pairs, Amanda Krogstad (SE) mixed in with the further Polish field of participants and Miroslav Matuska (SK) did so in the Four-in-hand horses. Krogstad finished fifth in all three events, earning her fifth in the overall standings. Matuska was third in dressage and second in marathon and cones. With that, he finished in second place, behind Piotr Mazurek.page1image38006592

For the Netherlands, Rudolf Pestman also started in the single driving horse competition with his Fair Play D. After dressage they were in first place with a score of 49.04. Because Fair Play was not quite regular the morning before the marathon, Pestman decided not to start.

Competitor Laure Philippot (BEL) was also unable to finish the competition with her Galen V. After finishing third in dressage behind Arkadiusz Szpojda (PL), she missed a mandatory gate in the marathon. Daniel Bejr (CZ) was in twentieth place after dressage with a score of 59.77. Due to his marathon victory and a double clear round in cones, he climbed to third place in the final standings. He was thus in the midst of the Poles, who finished in first, second, fourth and fifth place.
