Stockholm 2022: Boyd Exell again the best

Boyd Exell did what we've come to expect from him. Tonight during the first round of the World Cup competition in Stockholm he was again best. So he will start last tomorrow when the World Cup points are fought for.

Many balls fell in the first round today at the World Cup in Stockholm. Glenn Geerts was the only one who managed to leave all the balls up and thus built up a lead for the drive-off, where all participants started again. Gate C of obstacle 5 and gate D of obstacle 10 were not driven in the drive off. Glenn again got off to a fast start in the drive off and remained almost clear. After the speedbox he unfortunately earned 8 penalty points, so he had to let Boyd Exell take the lead. IJsbrand Chardon was also fast, but could not match Glenn and Boyd with his score of 303.53.

Boyd had a ball fall in obstacle 5 in the first round. Then in obstacle 10 he almost took the F from the wrong side on his way from B to C. In the speedbox his team was great and he managed to limit the damage. In the second round Boyd was fast and clear. He chose a different route from A to B in obstacle 10 and managed to set a faster time. With his score of 287.48 in total, he puts a gap between himself and IJsbrand. Due to his two balls in the second round, Glenn Geerts did not improve his score. He finished with 292.99.

The starting order for tomorrow is as follows:

Fredrik Persson (SWE)

Dries Degrieck (BEL)

Michael Brauchle (GER)

IJsbrand Chardon (NED)

Glenn Geerts (BEL)

Boyd Exell (AUS)
