Plan for continuation of FEI Driving World Cup™ 2020-2021 season

Following several cancellations of qualifiers, and in a bid to maintain the basic principles of the series and ensure the possibility of a FEI Driving World Cup™ Final 2020/2021, the FEI Board approved the following conditions to access the Final as presented by the Driving Technical Committee:

Should the season have:

Four legs: the best result from each Athlete will count towards qualification to the Final.

Two to three legs: the best result from each Athlete will count towards qualification to the Final.

One leg: only the top six from season 2019/2020 will go to the Final, and that one leg will be used for these six contestants.

Final only: the top six from season 2019/2020 will be allowed to compete.

If the Final is cancelled: The season is cancelled.

Ties?

If there are any ties, these will be broken according to Art. 1.4 of the FEI Driving World Cup™ Rules. If not reached, the 2019 FEI Driving World Cup™ Ranking will break the tie, either by the ranking position or the best classifications achieved.

If there is only a Final, an alternative option to be discussed with the OC of the Final (Bordeaux, FRA), the top 10 Athletes that participated in Season 2019/2020 could be allowed to compete. The FEI could also propose to the OC to only cover the expenses for the top six Drivers and the remaining four would accept the invitation at their own expenses and not counting for the Final overall classification.
