Superb Sandringham

The largest field at Sandringham for some years was augmented by the French, Belgian, Australian and Irish drivers taking part in the FEI (advanced) classes which began the event with dressage on Thursday afternoon. Their marathon was on Saturday and their cones competition was on Sunday.
Dressage was judged by Diana Brownlie (GBR), Martha Hanks-Nicoll (USA) and Boots Wright (USA). The course designer was Barry Hunter and the venerable post and rails obstacles were flagged as sympathetically as they could be, number seven in particular being extremely tight and suiting singles and technical drivers best.
