The Queen was known as a great horse lover and could therefore often be found at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which is held in her gardens at Windsor Castle. She regularly enjoyed a ride on her ponies and was a staunch supporter of her husbands, Prince Philip’s, driving career. He passed away in April last year.

At the last edition of the Royal Windsor Horse Show in may this year, Queen Elizabeth visibly enjoyed the shows that were organized for her 70th regnal year, and officially kicked off her Jubilee celebrations.

Elizabeth has struggled with fragile health and mobility issues since October, when she was briefly hospitalized. Since then, she has had to cancel several appointments or attend digitally from home. The week before the Royal Windsor Horse Show 2022, she wasunable to deliver her speech from the throne.
